And the storm has passed...or has it?

And so the sun is shining today with blue sky...but there is hints and rumor of more snow.    We actually got some snow but it accompanied some pretty fierce wind.  But when one thirsts for moisture...we are thankful for whatever we get...As the snow began to come down...I caught a picture of it on the new grass we have growing in the front yard.   While doing my morning reading...you know those times you just "come across a verse"...because though I love reading in Isaiah...it isn't one that I just happen upon unless lead...and it seemed to say so much to me.   Snow from heaven...seed to the sower...My word be..accomplish what I please...

The snow did not start right away.   But the wind she did want to blow...why I wonder does wind get to be a she?   HUSH!!!   But in the night the wind was one of those that howled...that seems to go through you.  And in the morning we found one of our grain bins that did not hold up to the pressures put against it...if that was our worst fatality...

As the day progressed...so did the winds and snow...at certain points one could not see very far.  We ended up missing Celise's shower as Heather was snowed in Limon...I was having vehicle problems and so we chose to stay hunkered down.  It sounded like it might have been a good decision.

If you look close you can see Izzy's goats in the shelter...though the moisture was a blessing...it is these times as these that test what we are made of...be it animal or man...

Most all survived the storm...but when the shepherd journeyed out to look...one little guy wasn't fairing so well.  He was a heifer's calf that got down in the feeder and couldn't get out.   So he was one cold little guy and so what does one do with a cold little baby...well you put him on the back porch.   I had just taken shots of this little guy the day before and so then now there he was...a cold little one on the back porch.   So I put some of the pics together...

And we were not sure if the little guy would make it...but the shepherd gave him some milk and we dried him off and so he was our overnight guest.   So with the morning came the sunshine...if one did not see the drifts...you might not even know what had transpired just hours before.

While at my kitchen table...still kicking back in my jammies...I hear quite the commotion on the back porch...the same place that I had just seen a while before one little guy laying there...though he was holding his head a little higher he still didn't seem to want to move much.  Tim had said he would feed him again.   But when I heard the clamour this was what I seen...right there by my dryer...moving shoes and whatever around...So I did what any good cattleman would do...I grabbed my camera...okay so maybe I am not shepherd material...

Okay so not one of my better pics...but not a common site in the laundry room and wanted to make sure the Firecracker gets to see...and so I hurried in slipped on some clothes to escort the little guy outside.   Of course, the shepherd who seems to know what all happens around the farm sees me coming out the backyard and hollers out to tell me bring the truck over as I am sure he like myself am wondering about how I was going to get this guy to walk down the stairs...Anyway I am not sure where he is even at and then catch sight...we take the little guy over to his mama and one would not even guess how he had been less than a day ago as he takes off like nothing happened...so again...what a difference a day makes...sunshine...babies standing up eating...I wondered if I should call him Downy...since he was a part of my laundry room.

But I am thankful for making it through though I know it is hard on the animals and the individuals who must work out in it...but the snow is melting leaving a little bit of moisture to melt in the soil...with hope that it will "WATER THE EARTH...AND MAKE IT BRING FORTH AND BUD".

May you make it through your storms...and find something within it to be thankful for!
